Ecco il cast secondario:
23 Year Old Charlie
Jeb Dexter
Charlie
The Amazing Jay
Vernon

[L'INCREDIBILE JAY]

4.12 Summary

Ext. Town – Day

Sam nods toward Jeb Dexter, who’s trailed by a small camera crew. Jeb performs an impromptu illusion for a couple of girls. Jeb tells them to get ready for something that will seriously blow their minds. Jeb holds up a deck of cards. Dean snarks that Jeb’s a douchebag. Sam informs Dean of the dude’s name and Daen says he doesn’t even want to know how Sam knows that. Sam says that Jeb is famous and asks Dean how he’s never seen him on TV. Dean points to Jeb and says that he’s the reason that remotes were invented.

Jeb sets the deck of cards on the sidewalk and steps back, does the arm waving thing and tells the girls that no matter what happens, don’t touch him for their own safety. Jeb closes his eyes and then starts to shudder violently he yells out for a demon to go back to hell and then a card flips into the air out of nowhere. Jeb snatches it and shows it to the girls, smugly asking if that’s their card.
The girls gasp and Jeb turns to the camera and promotes his TV show DevilTwist.

Int. Hotel Bar – Day

Sam and Dean find the place swarmed with Jeb’s reality crew. They pass Jay sitting in a booth getting his make up touches, and then Jeb ranting into his cell phone about how they told him it’d be only one show, and he doesn’t care if Blaine is one fire and hanging upside down. He’s doing this one show and then he’s going to Vegas.

Jeb trips over a cable and sends a light crashing to the floor. Dean states that’s entertainment, an awesome show of skill and dexterity. Vernon is watching the spectacle off to the side, and Sam approaches. Vernon looks past toward Jeb and tells Sam to look at that.

Jeb is being interviewed and says he’s at the International Convention of Magicians, a chance for him to tip his hat to the cats who came before him. Jeb turns to Jay and says that he had smoking hot effect last night, calling Jay—Jim. Jay corrects him, and Jeb says it doesn’t matter they’ll loop it later.

Int. Hotel – Jay’s Room – Day

Jay is working a deck of cards, each move more impressive than the next. There’s a knock on the door and Charlie enters. Jay says he’s glad he’s here ‘cause he’s been thinking about how he’s gonna top last night’s show.

Charlie asks how he plans to do that and Jay says he wants to do the Executioner. Charlie asks if Jay has lost his mind, and Jay counters saying its just a rope slip. Charlie points out that the slip is around the neck, and even Houdini wouldn’t attempt that trick. Charlie says that last night was an incredible show, but Jay shouldn’t push his luck. Jay tells Charlie luck had nothing to do with it, and picks up the cards and with lightening speed pulls out cards from the middle of the deck.

Charlie says it ain’t bad, and cuts the deck idly. Jay states that he’s been working on that trick for years just to get one card out and now he can do four. He begs Charlie not to tell him to slow down. Not now.

Charlie sighs and still isn’t convinced. Jay tells him to go stand in a certain spot as he moves to the other end of the room. He asks Charlie if the man remembers the first few years they spent on the circuit. Charlie says he does, and Jay says that there was nothing they wouldn’t try. Jay reminisces about the Bullet Catch and says that he was terrified but trusted Charlie had loaded the gun right.

Jay tells Charlie to check his pocket, Charlie pulls out the same card he cut out the deck earlier. Charlie’s totally dumbfounded and Jay tells Charlie that he has to trust him now.

Int. Small Performance Venue – Night

A noose hangs from the flyspace and a spotlight dramatically shines on it. Charlie and Vernon are standing in the wings, and Charlie says that Vernon has to talk Jay out of it, cause Jay listens to him. Vernon says he ain’t gonna and it’s idiotic to ditch a show when you got people who already paid their money. Charlie asks if its worth it for the man to get killed. Vernon reassures that Jay will be fine, and states that Charlie always had a stick up his butt when it came to big effects.

Sam and Dean approach and Charlie literally bumps into them. Dean tells him to watch it, and Charlie apologizes. The boys move toward Vernon and Sam asks about Chief. Vernon says he just wished he’d been there to see it. Dean interjects saying that they could have Vernon arrested for obstruction of justice, but Vernon calls them on it. Dean tap dances around it and says that Vernon’s got ‘em they really are just aspiring magicians and Sam chimes in saying that they thought they could learn something and get some ideas for a stage show.

Vernon asks why they don’t have a girl, and Dean says it s a brother act. Vernon nods, and tells them if they want to learn something then they need to stick around. The boys look toward the stage as Jay enters. Vernon tells them not to watch here, to go buy a ticket.

Int. Small Performance Venue – Dressing Room –Night

Jay is talking with Charlie and is clearly flustered from his encounter with Sam and Dean. Jay says that the boys told him his act was killing people and he was using real magic and casting dark spells. Charlie ignores all that and says that Jay is lucky to be alive after a trick like that.

Jay asks if it all seems unusual to Charlie, the things he can do now. Charlie says that he’s been working the cards all his life and something clicked, that can happen. Jay presses, asking about the escapes cause he hasn’t been able to slip a pair of cuffs in 30 years. And the way Vance and Jeb died? Charlie comments that
Jeb was a punk.

Jay counters that doesn’t mean Jeb deserved to die. Charlie points out that Jay had nothing to do with that and Jay points out that Jeb was hung by a mini blind cord the same night he performed the executioner.

Charlie tells him to wait a minute, and asks if Jay really believes that real magic was involved. HE says that he shouldn’t go out tonight, and Charlie tells him they have a sold out house, and Jay has been given a gift, telling him not to through it away cause a couple of crazies told him it was wrong.

Jay admits that the first time he pulled the table of death stunt he didn’t plan on coming out alive. Charlie counters that Jay did, and that’s all that matters. Jay’s a new man, and he’s never seen him this good. Charlie says that after this the sky’s the limit, and they can book anywhere, maybe even Atlantic City.

Int. Headline Performance Venue – Day

Jay’s standing on the headline stage, staring out at all the empty seats. Vernon congratulates him and says that he spoke to the president of the association and the headliner gig is Jay’s. Jay says he can’t take the offer, and that he’s giving it all up. Vernon asks why and asks if its about Charlie dying. Jay says that Vernon
doesn’t seem that upset about it.

Vernon explains that when you get to be his age, it’s a weekly occurrence. People die and Charlie died a little sooner than later is all. He asks what’s wrong with Jay. Jay asks how Vernon could do it to Vance, Dexter and to Charlie. Vernon inquires as to what Jay is talking about and Jay says that Vernon killed them all.

Int. Headline Performance Venue – Day

Jay’s gripping Vernon’s neck, and both men are surprised when Charlie walks on stage. Charlie assures them that its really him, and Vernon still can’t believe it. Charlie tells them that a good magician never tells ‘how’ but he just thought there should never be secrets between friends.

Charlie shuffles a deck of tarot cards with an impressive agility. He says that if feels good to be able to do this again, after 40 years of a slow decline you forget what it feels like to be young. Jay asks what Charlie has been messing around with. Charlie states that quite a while ago he found a book in one of Barnum’s old trunks. At first he thought it was a scam, but then discovered it was a grimoire (a book of real magic).

Jay inquires as to whether Charlie used it and Charlie replies that he tried one. And it worked, and then they all worked. So when he got to the one for immortality…Vernon is in awe and Charlie continues saying that every 40 years or so, when he starts getting rusty, he fakes his death and comes back.

Jay asks about the things he can do, and Charlie says it’s a different spell, something to give Jay a taste of what is possible. Jay asks about Vance, and Jeb and inquires if Charlie killed them. Charlie snaps that this isn’t a parlor game, and these kind of things come with a price.

Charlie says that he did it for Jay, because Jay was losing his purpose, his skills. Jay says he never asked for any of this. Charlie says that he couldn’t let him go like that, not when there was so much he could still do for him. How much he could still do.

Charlie sets down the tarot cards and takes a step toward Jay and Vernon. He tells them to come with him and they can take another shot at the brass ring together. Vernon’s more than ready to take Charlie up on his offer, but Jay says he won’t do it.

Charlie says that he ‘s never made this offer to anyone else before and he never had friends like the two of them. Jay asks who has to die so they can live forever. Charlie doesn’t answer and Jay goes on to tell him that its not right to do this. Charlie quietly please saying that he needs Jay and Vernon. He can’t start over alone again.

Vernon encourages Jay, saying they could take another crack at Atlantic City, hell, maybe Vegas. Jay seems to waver as he considers the possibility. Charlie tells Jay he has to trust him.
