3x14 Long-Distance Call

Il titolo dell'episodio 3x14 è, appunto, Long Distance Caller.
Sam e Dean agiscono separati. Sam aiuta una ragazza di 15 anni che è in contatto con la sua madre morta ma con una svolta. Infatti, sembra incredibilmente terribile perchè lo spirito che entra in contatto con le persone tenta di far sì che esse si tolgano la vita e Sam lo capisce.
Dean, intanto, è apparentemente in contatto con John o almeno così pensa. John dice a Dean che il demone che ha il suo contratto è in una città e Dean vi si reca per affrontarlo da solo. Ha tracciato una trappola del Diavolo e ha la sua pistola; riceve, poi, una chiamata da Sam che lo avverte che la "persona" con cui era in contatto non era John.

SAM: What?

Stewie hits a few buttons, and a printout starts to print from a nearby printer.

STEWIE: I can’t tell you where that number comes from…but I can tell you where it’s going.


SAM: What do you mean?

Stewie rips off the printer paper, hands it to Sam.

STEWIE: Ten different houses in the past two weeks. All got calls from this number.

Sam and Dean exchange looks. Huh?

EXT./INT. GREENFIELD HOUSE- DAY

Sam stands by the front door, confirms the address with the list from Stewie. He knocks. The door opens, revealing Mark Greenfield, 40’s. His son, Simon, 5, plays at his legs.

MARK: Yes?

SAM: Sir, hello, I’m with the phone company.

MARK: Okay…I didn’t call the phone company.

SAM: Oh, no, we’re calling you. We’ve received several complaints over the ast few days from the neighborhood.

MARK: What sort of complaints?

SAM: Odd calls, mostly. Everything from dropped calls, static, maybe even…strange voices on the other end of the line?

MARK: No…we haven’t had anything like that here.

SAM: Oh, okay. Just thought we’d check. Thanks.

As Sam says goodbye, he notes a girl, Leila, 15, standing in the hallway. Staring at him. She quickly looks away.

The door closes. Sam stands there for a beat. What the heck was that all about?

EXT. GREENFIELD HOUSE- DAY

Sam walks to his car (a rental) and is about to get in.

LEILA (o.s.): No way you’re a repairman.

Sam turns. Leila stands on the sidewalk. He smiles.

SAM: Sure I am.

LEILA: Really. Since when does a phone repairman drive a rental car? Or wear like ten lays of flannel shirts?

Busted. But Sam can tell she’s not here to break his balls.

SAM: Yeah, well…maybe we’re both keeping secrets.

Leila reacts…he’s right.

LEILA (after a moment): Why did you ask my dad if we heard strange voices on the telephone?

SAM: Why? Did you hear something Leila?

LEILA (defensive): No. I didn’t hear anything.

SAM: Oh. My mistake. I thought maybe you had.

LEILA: Well, I didn’t. Okay?

SAM: Sorry to bother you.

Sam opens the car door to get inside. Pauses.

SAM (cont’d): But, you know, if you did, I would have told you I’ve been right were you’re standing right now. Hearing things, maybe seeing things that I thought couldn’t be explained. I could have maybe helped you out with that. Anyway…

He starts into the car…

LEILA: Hey. Wait. Maybe I’ve been talking on the telephone with my mom.

SAM: Doesn’t seem so strange.

LEILA: She’s dead. Like for three years dead.

SAM: How often does she call?

LEILA: A few times. It started like a week ago. I thought I was like, crazy or something.

Sam closes the car door. Ready to talk.

SAM: I can tell you one thing for sure. And you gotta trust me on this one, ok? (Leila nods) You’re not crazy.

Leila nods grateful.

Pages skip…..

JOHN (v.o.): The demon, Dean.

DEAN: What demon?

JOHN (v.o.): The demon who holds your deal. He’s here.

Off Dean, floored.

INT. LEILA’S ROOM- NIGHT

Leila IMs with a friend. She types:

ONSCREEN:

Leilabear24: ‘Kay see you tomorrow!

Suddenly, another IM pops up. The username is the set of random symbols we’ve seen before. (Called wonkycallerid here)

ONSCREEN:

WONKYCALLERID: Leila? Is that you?

Leila types back.

ONSCREEN:

Leilabear24: Mom?

WONKYCALLERID: I asked you a question last night. Remember?

Leila fidgets. The question makes her uncomfortable.

ONSCREEN:

Leilabear24: You’re scaring me mom.

WONKYCALLERID: Don’t be scared. I’m your mother.

Leilabear24: I don’t know what you want.

WONKYCALLERID: Ofcourse you do. I want to see you.

Leila, even more uncomfortable, stares at the screen for a moment. Then types back,

Leilabear24: I went to see you. At the cemetery.

WONKYCALLERID: You know what I mean.

But Leila doesn’t know. And she’s growing more and more fearful by the moment.

ONSCREEN:

Leilabear24: I don’t think we should talk for a few days. I’m sorry.

A long pause. Leila can’t take the silence. Starts to worry maybe she really offended her mom? So she types,

ONSCREEN:

Leilabear24: Mom?

WONKYCALLERID: Why would you hurt me like this Leila?

And Leila starts to feel guilty…

Leilabear24: I’m not! I can’t come to see you. I don’t even know where you are.

Suddenly, the computer screen goes dead.

LEILA: Mom…?

And then, slowly, an image starts to appear on screen. As the image sharpens, Leila grows more and more upset.

ONSCREEN:

The image sharpens…it is of Leila sitting at her desk. From the POV of the webcam on top of her computer. Right now.

Leila breathes faster…it’s creepy as hell…can’t take her eyes off the onscreen image as

ONSCREEN:

A spectral figure enters behind her..seems to place a hand on her shoulder…we can’t see the face but Leila knows it’s her mom.

Leila, spooked, spins around to confront the figure…but nothing’s there!

Terrified, she turns off the computer and pushes her chair from the desk. Sobbing.

But over her shoulder the computer turns itself back on! An IM box appears. Something is typed onscreen. Again and again…

Leila finally realizes the computer is back on. She stares in horror at the words repeating themselves over and over..

ONSCREEN:

COME TO ME COME TO ME COME TO ME

Leila gasps in fear, and as the words COME TO ME fill screen we BLACK OUT!

END OF ACT TWO

INT. LEILA’S ROOM- DAY

Sam and Leila sit in her room. Leila sits in front of her computer, which is off. Sam sits in a chair next to her.

SAM: ‘Come to me’…what do you think your Mom meant by that?

LEILA: I thought she meant come to the cemetery.

SAM: Did you?

LEILA: Nothing happened.

SAM: So what do you think she wants?

Leila shrugs. Suddenly PING! Leila’s computer turns on.

LEILA: What’s going on?

SAM: Shh. Look straight ahead.

They watch as an IM appears onscreen…

ONSCREEN:

WONKYCALLERID: Leila? Are you there?

LEILA: It’s my mom…

SAM: Keep your eyes forward, don’t look at me, smile…now unplug the webcam. Slowly.

Leila does.

SAM (cont’d): Now back away.

Leila scoots back, Sam takes her place at the computer. He types a reply.

ONSCREEN:

Leilabear24: Hi, mom.

LEILA: What are you doing?

SAM: Don’t worry.

ONSCREEN:

WONKYCALLERID: I thought you were coming.

Sam thinks for a moment.

ONSCREEN:

Leilabear24: I want to. I don’t know how.

WONKYCALLERID: The pills in your father’s bathroom. Take them.

Leilabear24: How many pills?

WONKYCALLERID: All of them.

Sam and Leila stare at the screen in disbelief.

LEILA: My mother wants me to kill myself? Why?

Sam’s mind races. And suddenly it clicks. Holy ****.

SAM: Maybe it’s not your mother.

Leilabear24: Okay…but when I die, will my eyes turn into stone like yours?

WONKYCALLERID: You’re not Leila.

Leilabear24: You’re not Leila’s moth—

The computer shuts down! Sam’s frozen over the keyboard. Suddenly, he smiles. He’s got this ******* cold.

INT. IMPALA/EXT. STUBBS HOUSE- DAY

Dean pulls up in front of a normal, suburban home. Checks a slip of paper with an address scrawled on it. This is the place. He eyeballs for a beat…it’s quiet. Pulls a rosary out of his pocket, unscrews a jug of water…and drops the rosary in. Arming up.

INT. LEILA’S ROOM- SAME TIME

Sam and Leila.

SAM: I need you to listen to me ok? This was not your mother. And I don’t think it’s going to bother you again. But don’t answer the phone, don’t use the computer, don’t do anything until I say it’s ok. Alright?

Leila, scared, nods. Sam stands.

LEILA: You’re leaving?

Sam hesitates. Feels bad for her. But he has to go.

INT. SIMON’S ROOM- SAME TIME- INTERCUT

Leila’s brother, Simon, plays with a toy truck on the floor of his room. A phone rings softly. Simon looks around and sees his toy telephone ringing. He picks it up.

SIMON: Hello?...(smiles) Hi mommy..yes…yes…ok…where are you?

EXT. GREENFIELD HOUSE- MOMENTS LATER

Simon walks down the middle of the street smiling.

A delivery truck heads directly for him. Simon keeps walking..truck coming closer. Simon stops, suddenly snapping to, realizing the truck is coming. Frozen by fear, truck horn blasts and brakes scream. It’s gonna be too late until Sam rushes in to swoop Simon out of harm’s ay. They tumble to the side of the road. Shaken but ok.

Leila up the street, runs toward them.

LEILA: Simon!

INT. STUBBS HOUSE- DUSK

The house is dark and empty. Dean picks the front door, lets himself into the foyer. He carries the jug of holy water, a can of spray paint, and a bag of salt.

He walks to the doorway of the living room. Surveys. Moves a chair on top of a rug in the corner and pulls the rug back. Shakes the can of spray paint and begins to spray a devil’s trap.

INT. SAM’S CAR- DUSK

Sam drives, calls Dean on his cell.

DEAN (v.o.): Sam?

SAM: It’s a Crocotta, dean! I asked if it’s eyes turned to stone when it died and it freaked out.

DEAN (v.o): You sure?

SAM: They’re mimics. They get people to kill themselves.

DEAN (v.o.): Damn. That makes sense.

SAM: You can’t listen to what it says Dean. It’s not dad.

DEAN (v.o.) I hear ya. (then)

SIDES END.

As they walk, Clark angrily swats at a few flies. Dean swats at a few himself. He looks questioningly at Clark.

Clark (apologetic) : I know, sorry... (quietly) got something of a hygiene issue going on down here if you ask me.

Clark nods at a computer station they're approaching. Stewie Myers, 30, unkempt, nerdy, sits w/his back to them. His desk is pretty gross. Junk food wrappers, half eaten burgers, action figures doing unmentionable things to other action figures. Clark walks ahead to chastise Stewie.

Clark (low, urgent) : Darnit Stewie, what'd I tell you about keeping this place clean?

Stewie, surprised, frantically clicks his mouse to get off a racy website. But the more he clicks the more popups keep appearing.

Onscreen - Gain 3+ inches.. longer lasting, no more being shy. (I sort of PG'd this. It wasn't that bad, but none the less I didn't want to risk it here)

Stewie (covering) : Uh.. spam mail.. spam mail!

Clark : Stewie Myers this is Mr. Campbell and Mr Raimi...

Stewie (still clicking) : Uh huh...

Clark : ....From headquarters. Give them whatever they need.

Clark, disgusted, leaves. Sam and Dean wait patiently as Stewie finally gets rid of the popups. And sighs in relief.

Int Phone Company - Night

Sam comes to--he is seated on a chair, his hands and feet bound w/electrical wire. Flies swarm. In front of him, Stewie is tied in a similar fashion. Clark circles Stewie holding Sam's dagger.

Stewie (sobbing) : I'm sorry Clark.. Whatever I did to you, I'm sorry. Please...

Sam : Let him go!

Clark looks at Sam, appraises him coolly. Clarks demeanor is different than earlier. He's abnormally calm, almost detached.. it's eerie.

Clark : You're awake.

Stewie : You're not a killer Clark. I know it. Deep down, there's a good man inside you.

Clark (to Sam) : What do you think Sam? Am I a good "man"?

Sam : You're not a killer. Not like this.

Clark (re: the knife) : Oh, you mean so direct? True... true...

Suddenly Clark plunges the knife into Stewie's heart.

Stewie : No!

As he dies, blood arcs from the wound... and Clarks face turns into something monstrous... his jaws stretch open inhumanly wide... as Stewie's soul rushes from his body and into Clarks gaping maw!

Sam watches in horror.. tugs vainly at the wires binding his wrists.. as Clark savors Stewie's soul. He turns, coolly appraising Sam.

Sam (realizing, steely) : That last call to Dean... that was you.

Clark : I'm a mimic, Sam. You know that. I just can't help myself.

Clark flips a switch. He presses a hand against a blinking panel--this is his 'method' for using the phone system--and closes his eyes. His body starts to tremble as he conduits with the phone system-- from hidden speakers a phone starts to ring...

Sam : What are you doing?

Clark (calmly) : Killing your brother. Maybe killing another guy. We'll see.

Sam : You're kidding yourself if you think Dean's gonna walk into that.

Clark : Good thing for me he's already there.

Sam : I knew it wasn't my dad, you (child born out of wedlock.. what? There are some things I can't type here)

Clark : It's all out there you know... Dean's number, your number, Bobby's. Your father's. Which lead to voicemails. And emails. All this information. Just.. floating, waiting to be plucked.

Sam : No way Dean kills an innocent man.

Clark half smiles.

Clark : It's amazing really. Technology.

Sam : Yeah .. beepers. A miracle.

Sam urgently searches the room, looking for.. There. A row of coat hooks across the room. He files it away.

Clark : You don't know. Used to be I'd hide in the woods for days, weeks. Hoping someone would come along. Now I just make a phone call.

Clark stops, Sam tenses.

Clark : You're all so connected. And so alone. You'll believe anybody on the other end of that line.

- Stewie Meyers: ha tra i 20 e i 30 anni e non è di nessuna etnia in particolare. Ha l'aria da secchione, è sarcastico e sciatto. Lavora alla compagnia telefonica con Clark. L'igiene e l'area di lavoro di Stewie sono disgustose. Egli passa il suo tempo libero a sfogliare riviste porno e a posizionare le immagini dei suoi supereroi in posizioni compromettenti. E' sinceramente all'oscuro delle persone che lo circondano ed è perplesso quando è accusato di una terribile trasgressione.


Si, questa puntata dovrebbe andare in onda il 1 Maggio.

Sam e Dean cacciano un Crocotta, il cui scopo è quello di far sì che le persone si tolgano la vita e prendere, poi, le loro anime. Per fare questo, esso comunica con loro via telefono e via computer come un caro estinto. Dean ottiene informazioni sul demone che possiede il contratto sulla sua anima da una fonte apparentemente inverosimile. Mentre Sam va ad affrontare il Crocotta, Dean inconsapevolmente si prepara a tendere un agguato ad una vittima innocente.

Secondo l'IMDB, Jeffrey Dean Morgan dovrebbe comparire in questo episodio!
